FVPSA Final Regulation Resources

A key pillar in the federal response to domestic violence

A critical purpose of the FVPSA grants is to establish, maintain and expand local family violence prevention and intervention programs that meet the needs of all victims, including those from underserved or historically marginalized communities. As we build on the history of our work as advocates, we should continue to identify new, innovative ways of providing services and be open to transforming our strategies and approaches to serving survivors and addressing domestic violence.

FVPSA grantees share a desire to provide inclusive and accessible services, but often struggle with what this looks like in practice, where to start, or what to do when challenges arise. Programs need examples of policies and practices that respond to the specific and systemic barriers that survivors from historically marginalized communities encounter; models of inclusive and culturally relevant programming and advocacy; and strategies for building meaningful partnerships across communities and fields.

The resources and tools collected here are intended to serve as practical, ready-to-use ways to improve organizational climate and culture, build program capacity, and strengthen advocates’ knowledge and skills – with the ultimate goal of creating sustainable, cultural shifts in our work that support meaningful access to safety, services, and support for all victims.
